hugging some of my favorite summer nail polishes. Yes, we’re very much in love!
As you know if you check out me on my blog at Carol in a Page, nail polish and I have had a rollercoaster romance, but right now we’re going strong!

After some recent purchases and some clearing out, I’ve decided on the five nail lacquers that will see me through summer 2016 and whatever adventures it brings.

My current favorite summer nail polishes. L-R: Zoya professional Lacquer in Aggie, OPI infinite shine 2 Lacquer in Running with the In-finite Crowd, Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Kings & Thieves, Chanel Le Vernis in Espadrilles, and Zoya professional Lacquer in Charli
Wanna know what inspired these picks?

1. The Nautical Style: Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Kings & Thieves ($18)

I really like pairing deep blue Kings & Thieves with nude sandals
When it comes to the color blue in summer, I can’t help but think of one thing: nautical style.

But since I don’t have a yacht (or a striped dress, for that matter), the way I’ve been getting that nautical vibe is by painting my toes with Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Kings & Thieves, an indescribably stunning inky blue.

2. An African Safari: Zoya professional Lacquer in Charli ($10)

Zoya professional Lacquer in Charli reminds me of safari clothing
Some may argue that olive is more of an autumnal shade, but in my mind it evokes safari clothes and glimpses of an endless African savanna.

I don’t think my summer pastimes will include observing slumbering lions from the back seat of a Jeep, but in case they do, I’ll know what nail polish to pack: Zoya professional Lacquer in Charli.

3. A date on the Beach: OPI infinite shine 2 Lacquer in Running With The In-finite crowd ($12.50)

OPI infinite shine 2 Lacquer in Running With The In-finite crowd may last even longer than your summer fling
Picture a white sandy beach, crystal blue waters turned orange by a setting sun, and the man of your dreams walking next to you while a warm breeze tickles the nape of your neck.

Can you see it clearly?

OK, now tell me, what are you wearing on your nails?

I can distinctly visualize myself wearing OPI infinite shine 2 Lacquer in Running With The In-finite Crowd, a flirty raspberry fuchsia.

4. The Bronze Goddess: Zoya professional Lacquer in Aggie ($10)

I bet Zoya professional Lacquer in Aggie would look outstanding against bronzed skin
If you want to channel your inner bronze goddess, Zoya professional Laquer in Aggie is the lacquer for you.

Pair this stunning coppery bronze with a tan, an off-the-shoulder boho dress and messy waves, and you’ll be ready to dance the night away with your bare feet in the sand.

I mean, feel free to wear it to the office, too, if you want, but you may find yourself daydreaming in the middle of a meeting about that time you went to Ibiza with your girlfriends many, many moons ago… just sayin’.

5. The All-Rounder: Chanel Le Vernis in Espadrilles ($28)

Chanel Le Vernis in Espadrilles is a fun orange with just enough red to be beautifully elegant and grown up
Chanel Le Vernis in Espadrilles (from Chanel’s summer 2016 collection) is the epitome of a summer nail polish, and I can see myself wearing it tons over the next few months to both casual and formal occasions.

I don’t know how Chanel does it, but they always come up with shades that look appropriately stunning, no matter the dress code… I guess it’s the power of the double C’s!
